The Just Say No campaign worked pretty well, although I was not able to extend it to all sweets, as a few ambitious co-workers chose to do. Maybe in the future. Kickboxing continues to go well. While I am still no athlete, I have gotten to the point where I find the class actually FUN, and I see it as some sort of reward for getting through a Monday. Body Pump is still quite hard for me, and my 7-months pregnant teacher could totally kick my butt. I was relieved to find out that the weights we use are in kilograms rather than pounds. This detail is very reassuring to me.
Last week, Laura and I started a step class. This class is packed, and it moves fast. I am clearly a newbie, and last week my calves were tight for days. This week was just as awkward, but the teacher is encouraging and nice. I want to give it some more time to find a rhythm and get the hang of it. I KNOW I am burning lots of calories as I flail about as the sweat just pours off of me like all of my muscles are sobbing.
In Leela news, she’s as sweet as ever. With me now going to the gym many evenings, Dave and Leela are enjoying their walks together. She comes home from them tired and ready to snuggle. I love it.
The new job is also going well. They installed new, beautiful furniture in my office yesterday. I plan to frame and put up a photo Dave took, which I think will look great. I’m not totally settled in, but some before and preliminary after shots are on flickr.
I go to my sister’s for Thanksgiving next week. It will be my first holiday without Dave since at least we got married, maybe before. That part is sad to me, but I do look forward to having nearly a week with my sister, her hubby, and my niece and nephew, who all essentially have the week off. They have projects ready for me, at least one of which is baking cookies, so I know I’ll have a blast. Can’t wait!
