We had a great time in Southern California. It was wonderful seeing Kristan and Steve, and of course snuggling with Linus and Mia. (Linus is a HUGE snuggler. He gets right up into your face and lays on your chest and is just so content.) We got to check out Longbeach and it’s wonderful Aquarium of the Pacific and shops. We had a blast in San Diego, where we saw Mission Beach, Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Gas Lamps, and Old Town. And we ate enough great Mexican food and margaritas to lastus a long time! (Well, in theory, at least.)
It was wonderfully relaxing with beautiful weather and great company! I must have brought the sunshine home too, because for at least 2-3 days after we got home, the sun was shining for some really great Pittsburgh weather.
And, while it’s always sad to leave friends and go home after a wonderful vacation, we had one thing to look forward to for sure: our new addition, Leela. She is a wonderful bundle of joy! She is getting used to us and doing quite well indeed. The kitties are figuring her out, and vice versa. As I type Mojo is giving her “I don’t like you” vibes with his eyes (and occasionally his hissing mouth). She desparately wants to play with him, as he about her size and seems like a perfectly good playmate. He wants her to stop chasing him around and generally sniffing in his direction. *Sigh*
Leela had a big day today: she went to the vet to have her first check up. She has a clean bill of health and an assortment of “prophylactic” medications lining the counter. (I learned more than I cared to about worms…) She weighs in at 12 pounds, and is strong and healthy. She is playful and fun, but also (thankfully) sleeps a lot.
Pictures to come for sure. We’ve been snapping away and merely need to upload and link. I’ll post updates soon.
