Gray Kitty
Much to my delight, Gray Kitty was back in his window today. I smiled a big smile when I saw it. He’s been gone for far too long. I thought maybe he moved away. Apparently, he was just waiting for the sun to shine again. I get that.

You may have already seen on Dave’s blog that we had a great time at the Pearl Jam concert. I title this post Release, because, yes, they started the show with that one. But also, it’s because I love that song, and the whole concert was sort of like a release for me.
Eddie Vedder’s voice is as amazing as ever, and the rest of the band members are amazing musicians. I saw Pearl Jam for my first concert in 1994, right after Versus came out. They were as great to watch this past Friday as they were back then. In fact, perhaps better in many ways. And it was really fun to hear songs live that have come out since that time.
The girls and I also scrapbooked this weekend, which meant between the concert, scrapbooking, and celebrating Dan’s birthday, I was barely home at all this weekend. All of it was really fun though. I managed to scrapbook our entire Denver trip (at about 30 pages!), which was a huge accomplishment. And of course, Laura kept us going with fabulous food!
Next up: the Arthur clan arrives in a week for an exciting, extended 4th of July holiday!
This weekend was really nice in that we did not run around everywhere, and we just got stuff done around the house.
Dave finished building me a shelf in the kitchen, put up a few pictures and worked diligently on a retaining wall outside around our flower beds. I did a ton of laundry and other house projects and edged the sidewalks in the back.
I mention the edging for two reasons. One: Cindy will be delighted to hear that the edging of the sidewalks at our house are complete. Two: edging seems to be a pretty good ab work out. No really. I knew my back would be tired, and my triceps too. But I did not expect the wonderful/painful ache in my transverse abdominals. I actually had the thought on Monday morning, “too bad the edging is done.” I’ve clearly lost it.
On Sunday we also had the pleasure of babysitting our neighbors’ almost grown Boxer puppy, Bo. Man is he a sweetheart. Even though Mojo tried to taunt him, he was very good both in the house and in the yard. He does seem highly attracted to sage. Who knew? But it IS pretty and it DOES smell good. So who can blame him really. Puppy sitting had the added bonus of being able to watch movies in our neighbors’ air conditioned house after the work was done. So, we had that going for us, which is nice.
I also finally got the Pink Razr I’ve been coveting. I finally got to kick Sprint to the curb, so anyone on Cingular, we now talk for free. It’s so pretty and has all the features you want in a phone: a screen that tells you who’s calling, a good size for putting in your purse, and, oh yeah, it rings. And did I mention that it’s pink? If Dave gets an orange phone, it only seems fair. ; )
I’ll post all the “after” pictures of our when we’re officially done. For now, my eye is on the prize: Friday night and Pearl Jam. Oh. Yeah.

This is Richard and Jen’s baby, Sam. Isn’t he sweet? He’s all snorgled up in the blanket I knitted him. See the “W” (for Watkins)? Yeah, that was a lot of business. But is is so clearly well worth it to see him enjoying it so much. What a cutie!
