Pearl Jam
This post comes after much blog neglect. I haven’t even mentioned our fabulous trip to Denver or any of the other funny, silly, or even mundane items going on in life. For that, I’m sorry. I’ll have to talk about the trip at least sometime soon.
But I must share a small bit of good news: Dave won us FREE Pearl Jam tickets on the radio. Here’s the scoop:
Dave and I have been listening for tickets, which they were giving away during the afternoon radio show starting at 5 p.m. We usually miss this show, but recently had the good fortune, and good planning on Dave’s part to pay attention. Despite almost talking over it, we did in fact hear the magic words: “Call for your LAST chance at Pearl Jam tickets.” DING!
So we called, each of us on our cell phones. The inevitable, “This number cannot be completed as dialed,” came on for each of us, as for some reason we get this crazy Sprint message every time we call the station and only when we call them. We tried this a couple of times and continued to get this message. I also seemed to become completely incapable of using my cell phone. GRRR. We were so frustrated, and I started complaining about my phone being a pain to use.
So Dave grabs my phone and despite my protests that he can’t “fix” it, since it’s just hard to use, he dials. It rings! Yay, it’s ringing! Dave did get through and the DJ asked him the following question: “What side project was made up of members of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam?” Dave answered correctly (Temple of the Dog), and we WON free Pearl Jam tickets. That’s right baby, FREE! Woot! I started yelling and screaming, and the rest, well, I’ll tell you the rest after June 23. I SO cannot wait.
Pearl Jam was the first band I ever saw in concert (shout out to my concert companion Elaina!), and Dave has never had the pleasure. Dave is the master—Green Day, and now this!
