Green Day (again/still)

So, I was formulating a post in my head the day before yesterday. I was thinking how I’m STILL not sick of American Idiot. I listen to it regularly, and even though I had listened to it for the drive in to Oakland, and then again at my desk, I still opted to listen to it on the drive home. Seriously. I was thinking that hey, I’ve been listening to this album for like A YEAR, and we went to the concert last April. Still not tired of it. It’s just too good, and too great to drive too.

So I’m thinking about this as I’m listening in the car, but I didn’t get to post right away. And then, it was birthday time. Dave made me a fabulous breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast (yes, Kristan, mmm. toast…), topped off with orange juice and my favorite tea. Then he says, “let’s open presents!” EEE. A stack of packages wrapped in pink awaited.

I opened some lovely gifts from my sister and her husband and kids, and a wonderful gift from Kristan (thank you!). Then I opened Dave’s gift. He made me shake it. “Hmm…. the sands of time?” Nope. Hmm. So I just tore into it. It was two bags of Koolaid frozen drink mix (Tara will appreciate that!) wrapped around Green Day’s Bullet in a Bible. It’s a CD and DVD of the American Idiot show in England, which is essentially the same show we saw here in Pittsburgh, but insert “ENGLAND!” for everytime Billie Joe yelled “PITTSBURGH!” Plus, it’s in this ginormous stadium, whereas, we had free box seats in Mellon Arena. We enjoyed watching about half the DVD before we left for dinner and listened to the cd version of the concert, in the car of course. Seriously, how could I get sick of it now? Now that it’s all new and different again?! ; )

Oh Happy Day.

Post Holiday Post

I don’t have any good stories to share, but I thought I’ve been a little lax in posting of late, what with all the holiday doings and all. We had a wonderful holiday with Dave’s family. I was spoiled with lots of wonderful presents including end tables for our living room that match the coffee table.

We got to watch a bunch of movies too including The Incredibles, Batman Begins, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and there might be one more (we started but haven’t finished Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are Dead…). They were all very enjoyable! We also went to see Fun with Dick and Jane, which was, in fact, quite fun. And our friends were very kind to us, so we have movie passes to see new things that come out in the future.

Happy New Year (almost) to everyone. I’m going to eat the last half piece of the stuffed french toast I made for Christmas morning. I know you’re jealous!

Stop! No cart for you!

So Laura and I went to Target today. We had a cart full of heavy things like cat litter and such. Laura was pushing the cart in the parking lot toward the car. We got to our aisle and Laura turned the cart. At this moment there was another women with a cart with a bag of dog food on the bottom part. She looked like she was stuck in a crack in the road or the food had gotten caught in the wheels. Then Laura found that she couldn’t go forward. I thought maybe there was a dip in the road both carts got stuck in.

But it quickly became apparent that both carts where refusing to move. There were also several other abondoned carts around this area. Niether cart would budge. They also wouldn’t really move from side to side or back very well. It was like an invisible fence that we were pushing up against and couldn’t get by or through. What’s going on? New tech in the Target lot or weirdo full moon craziness? Anyone else finding these sorts of things popping up in parking lots to save the carts??
