A friend of mine is was browsing the web for cool Irish-related items. She found this page of Celtic pendants and jewelry. At first glance they seem to be normal, what you’d expect. But tell me, do you see a pendant on this page that strikes you as odd? I told her that if she got that one, she’d definitely be sending a clear message!
On the big screen - and my t.v.
So, I like to hear what movies people are watching. In order to hear what you all are seeing, I’ll share mine. Most recently I’ve seen three videos and one movie in the theatre. Specifically: Anchorman, Elf, Supersize Me, and Sideways.
I enjoyed all of these, for different reasons of course. Will Ferrell is hilarious. That’s all that needs to be said about the first two. Supersize Me was eye-opening. After reading Fast Food Nation, I can’t said any of it was a complete surprise, but the movie was done so well. It really drove a lot of points home. It has helped curb my craving for fries. Seeing him eat all the fries did not help. Seeing him vomit them back up definitely did.
Sideways was lots of fun, and my first trip to the theater in a few months. Dave and I went down to the good old Oaks down the street. I look forward to summer when we can walk this again! Anyhoo, I really enjoyed Sideways. I’d heard mixed reviews, but I had sheltered myself from learning too much. Paul Giamoti’s character is totally great and believable. It’s a good one for anyone who’s interested. Best line: Are you chewing gum? See it and you’ll laugh too.
