Photography and Cindy’s Drawers

So, how ’bout an update on the camera?

In response to my question: How many pieces is the camera in now? Dave said, “About a million.”

I asked: How’d it work out with the grease? “Ehh.”

There’s lots of sighing, taping, and crouching over tiny plastic and metal pieces going on, and it seems that one of the plastic ones is now broken. All I can see is this funny little springy looking piece.

Apparently this behavior is either a Decker or Drenning trait, as Dave’s brother Dan used to take everything apart. Unfortunately he didn’t always put things back together, and if he did, he didn’t always use all the pieces. I’m wondering how this will work out. That camera was good to us. *Sigh.*

I’m meanwhile being schooled on baseball, as it is the World Series. Baseball makes me think of Cindy. Well actually, baseball pants make me think of her. You can ask her about that, but what I find really fascinating is her drawers. Oh. Yeah. Also, the poor thing is sick. Please send healthy thoughts her way, as she is coming to our place this weekend, and Dave and I just recently got over being sick.

Well, back to night two of the laundry. I think the orange load is done…

Welcome to a Sneak Peak into Dave’s Mind

I know, frightening…

So, I’m sitting on the couch chatting with a few people on iChat and just having a little bit of quiet time before I get back to the laundry (the never-ending chore - seriously, how many people do you know who have to separate the clothes into lights, darks, and *orange*? No. Seriously).

So I’m sitting there, and Dave emerges from his bass-filled office, comes down the stairs, and goes outside. I’ve barely noticed what’s going on when he returns. I look up.

He’s sitting on the couch messing around with the jack. As in, the car jack. I look at him and blink. I look around the living room. Still no car in here. I look back at him. He smiles.

Um, what’s with the jack, yo?

So, I suppose I should have known that this was related to the several small pieces of our digital camera he brought down about 20 minutes prior. Obvious, right?

He smiles bigger and brings the jack over to me. He says, pointing, that in the corner of the jack is this glob of grease that he can use on the pieces of the camera that he had previously demonstratd to have too much friction.

Huh.

I mean, who else do I know who would have put that particular set of two and two together? The idea is, in fact, quite brilliant, especially if it works.

But what I want to know is: How did he know about the grease in the jack? And later: How long will it be before the jack makes it back into the car? And what’s in this box, now on the living room floor, that was obviously obstructing the way to the jack and was abandoned back there in the car for who knows how long?

He smiles and bounds upstairs. Welcome, my friends. Welcome.

Dude, where’s my blog?

Well, it’s here? After asking this question for many months, i now have a blog! Thanks to my sweet, sweet Davey for hooking me up.

So, I’m not promising anything yet, but I hope that I can share some stories that will make you smile, laugh, learn something, or just know something about what’s going on in my world.

I have some things I already want to post, but for now it is bed time. I have a big day of shopping ahead tomorrow. ;)
